- April Member Meeting - Friday, April 26th at 6:30pm in the terminal basement.

-- We have a special guest joining us, the Aviation Site Manager for the University of Michigan Survival Flight, the critical care transport program of Michigan Medicine. We will have the opportunity to learn about everything from the capabilities and operations of the UofM survival flight network (both helicopters and jets) to the logistics of how these pilots plan and execute these off-field landing flights with very short notice and often in darkness to the logistics behind how these operations are dispatched and how pilots train for this type of flying.

— Our very own Nigel Thompson will present on the topic of avionics in our aircraft covering everything from a fleet overview of capabilities to system architecture (how certain avionics units communicate with each other) to safety tips on keeping everything straight going between the large variety of avionics setups here at the flyers and tips on learning new avionics systems. Nigel is a wealth of knowledge on all things airplane and everyone will learn something in this meeting from people brand new to the club to seasoned members of our CFI crew.

We will have a short CFI focus segment followed by hearing about the best trips that members have taken in 2023 and how you can visit there too

This is a great opportunity to hang out with your fellow Flyers members while enjoying delicious food and drink. The Flyers will be providing the food, and a cash bar will be available. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

DPE Bill Clark will join us on Wednesday, November 15th at 7pm in the ARB Terminal Basement to discuss checkride tips and tricks, commonly failed areas, and offer some practical engine out experience.

ACE Aviation (formerly Aviation Center) is having an open house on Saturday, Oct. 28th from 11am-2pm with grilled food provided!

We will welcome a forecaster from the National Weather Service in our October Member Meeting! The meeting will be held at the hangars or in the terminal basement depending on weather.

Our annual member meeting will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 6pm, at the Flyers.

We will review our club accomplishments, present a financial report, and discuss the club's future. We will also hold elections for two board seats: president and director-at-large.

Detroit TRACON Supervisor and Controller will be presenting to the club and then taking questions and they will also have sign ups available that night for TRACON and DTW tower tours in the weeks following the meeting.

Member Meeting with speaker Bob Thorsen. Bob is a club CFI with a background in maintenance. He'll be presenting on aircraft care - a timely topic as the weather improves and the flight hours ramp up!

In addition to giving actionable advice, he will also be happy to take questions afterward on anything from maintenance to medicals.
